Service Description

Beginner Dragon Boat Training Certificate Course (1-day course) - Theory 1. History and development of dragon boating in Hong Kong, introduction to the Hong Kong Dragon Boat Federation 3. Types, structure, and basic equipment of dragon boats 4. Dragon boat water safety knowledge 5. Difference between life jackets and buoyancy suits - Technique 1. Warm-up exercises 2. How to wear a buoyancy suit or life jacket 3. Safety knowledge for getting on and off dragon boats 4. Sitting posture and oar grip 5. Deep-water boarding 6. Basic dragon boat paddling techniques, including: front rowing, back rowing, emergency stop, and balancing in the water Intermediate Dragon Boat Training Certificate Course (2-day course) - Theory 1. Introduction to the Hong Kong Dragon Boat Association 2. Basic First Aid 3. Dragon Boat Navigation Rules 4. Introduction to Dragon Boat Racing Rules - Technique 1. Warm-up and Cool-down Exercises 2. Physical Training 3. Consolidating Basic Dragon Boat Sitting Posture and Paddle Techniques 4. Moving and Rearranging Positions on the Dragon Boat 5. Horizontal Paddle and Paddle Thrusting 6. Racing Techniques, including: Starting, Endurance Mastery, Finish Line Crossing, Understanding Dragon Boat Racing Patterns and Completing a Race of at Least 500 Meters 7. Self-Rescue Methods for a Drowned Dragon Boat *The above is a summary of the key points for the certificate course.
