About the Centre

The Jockey Club Kai Tak Water Sports Centre is located on the former site of the Kai Tak Airport Fire Station, preserving the iconic red-and-white architectural style of the 1970s while being revitalized into office and boat-storage space.  Next to it, a newly built multi-purpose building offers activity rooms, changing rooms and modern sanitary facilities, creating a unique blend of history and contemporary design.

Location

Our Community

Our neighbourhood on the ex-Kai Tak Airport Runway is a dynamic area blending leisure, sports and community spaces.  Here is a snapshot of its highlights spanning from the ex-airport apron to the threshold:

  • Kai Tak Sports Park:  A state-of-the-art venue for sports and entertainment, hosting major events like international concerts, mega sports events and community activities complemented with shopping malls, restaurants and supermarket etc.

  • Kai Tak Sky Garden:  It is a unique elevated park, Hong Kong's first sky garden built on curved noise barriers, located above the former runway of Kai Tak Airport.  The garden is divided into four zones themed around the seasons—spring, summer, autumn, and winter—showcasing over 80 species of plants, amphitheatres and recreational spaces.

  • Kai Tak Cruise Terminal:  A modern terminal for international cruise liners, featuring a rooftop park with a central lawn, water garden and viewing platform.

  • Runway 1331:  An affordable accommodation option for young and budget travellers, fostering exploration and connection. The hostel will host diverse events, including cultural performances featuring local and international artists, monthly creative markets, and various art, sports, and academic workshops.
